Campus Opening

We are excited to welcome you to the new Roux Institute campus at 100 Fore St. in Portland, Maine. As of today, the building is open for classes, work, and study. To promote the health and safety of all, we are taking a number of precautionary measures to protect our community against the spread of COVID-19. These include required daily health screenings prior to coming to campus, temperature checks upon entry, COVID-19 testing, healthy distancing, mask wearing, and frequent handwashing and disinfection of surfaces while in the space.

Students

Students will receive a welcome email sent to their northeastern.edu email account with details on how to access campus for the first time. If students have any questions, they should contact Annie Chuprevich, director of learner services, at a.chuprevich@northeastern.edu.

Before Arrival

  • Complete the Expectations for Return to Campus Attestation form. This form only needs to be completed once before your initial visit to campus.
  • Complete the COVID-19 Testing Consent form. This form only needs to be completed once before you come to campus.
  • You will need to complete the Northeastern Daily Wellness Check every time that you visit campus. You will receive confirmation after submitting the form. Please bring that confirmation with you to campus (a photo or screenshot of the confirmation on a phone screen is fine).
  • Secure a face mask or other face covering, which will be required to be worn in the building at all times.
  • If you are a student coming on campus for a class through Hybrid NUflex you will need to reserve your seat via the Student Hub. Please note that NUflex technology is not in place yet, but we will notify students when it becomes accessible, which we expect in late November.
  • Students will need to make a reservation for an Orientation via Acuity. Once complete, you can join us on campus during business hours.
  • Please note that students will need to book a weekly on-site, free COVID-19 test and complete their Daily Wellness Check every time that they visit campus in order to maintain access to campus.

Upon Arrival

  • Complementary parking is available at Ocean Gateway Garage at 167 Fore St. The system does not provide you with a ticket, so you will insert your credit card for access and then just bring the last four digits of your card when you arrive on campus and our front desk team can validate it for you.
  • When you arrive in the space, we will conduct a Daily Wellness Check, which involves presentation of your photo/screenshot as well as a temperature check using a no-contact thermometer at your forehead. If your temperature is 98.6 F or below, entry will be permitted. If it is higher, you will be asked to cool down momentarily outside the facility and be retested. This temperature check will happen at every visit.
  • Your Orientation session will involve having your photo taken for a Husky ID card, which will be provided in a lanyard to be worn around your neck any time you are in the building. You will then have a tour of the space and an opportunity to ask any questions you might have.

Staff and Faculty

When staff and faculty have questions about coming to campus, they should contact Hilary Kline at h.kline@northeastern.edu to coordinate their initial visit.
