DESCRIPTION:Maine’s ocean and fisheries industries play a vital role in the state’s economy and way of life — but the impact of the data they generate can range far beyond just the traditional uses. \nFrom tracking extreme weather events to monitoring local fish populations and detecting long-term temperature trends\, ocean data is a powerful tool for understanding and responding to environmental changes. \nWith a growing variety and abudance of oceanic data\, it’s important to discuss how that data is best used to bring innovation and climate resilience to Maine. Join us May 9 at 12:00 pm for a conversation with New England Marine Monitoring and Ocean Data Network about data collection and how technology and climate change are impacting the type of data collected. \nThe ClimateTech Speaker Series is a joint initiative between the ClimateTech Incubator at Northeastern University’s Roux Institute and E2Tech and is sponsored by the Maine Governor’s Energy Office.  This program is part of an ongoing speaker series focused on AI\, climate\, and energy.
