SUMMARY:IdeaJam: Solutions to Combat Digital Fraud
DESCRIPTION:While new technology has opened up avenues for communication\, learning\, and entertainment\, it has also given rise to a serious problem — online fraud. Older adults\, in particular\, are often targeted by predators seeking to exploit their trust and lack of familiarity with the digital landscape. \nHow might we develop a solution to protect older adults from online fraud? \nJoin us in the Roux Institute Ampihteatre for an interactive program centered around developing innovative solutions to combat digital fraud. The event will begin with a panel discussion highlighting the seriousness of digital fraud\, and the opportunities this pressing challenge presents. Participants will then join teams\, learn about design thinking\, and brainstorm initial solutions. Each team will present their idea to a panel of experts for feedback. Any teams or individuals who wish to continue to build their idea will have the option to continue working with a Roux Institute mentor. All are welcome to join! \n  \nAbout IdeaJam \nIdeaJam is an interactive 4-hour design-thinking workshop that immerses participants in the principles of design thinking. Through hands-on activities\, participants engage in customer discovery exercises and basic prototyping\, applying these skills to tackle real-world challenges. The program’s goal is to introduce participants to the design-thinking framework and empower them to use this innovative approach to generate creative\, practical solutions to complex problems. IdeaJam offers a dynamic environment where participants can think critically\, collaborate\, and turn insights into actionable ideas.
