Kate Simmons

Kate Simmons is the director of partnerships at the Roux Institute. Simmons is focused on supporting corporate and community partners to leverage all aspects of the Roux Institute. Originally from the Chicago area, she spent the early part of her career working on electoral campaigns throughout the country. After moving to Maine over fifteen years ago, Simmons led campaigns at the state and federal level, was Chief of Staff for the House Majority Leader in the Maine state house and founded Emerge Maine, a non-profit focused on training women to run and win campaigns for elected office.

Most recently, she developed new products and event series at Maine’s largest media network, Masthead Maine. An avid sailor who has worked as crew on sailboats on both the east and west coasts, she lives in Limerick with her husband and dogs.
