The Casco in Portland’s Old Port

The Casco is Portland’s newest apartment residence, a majestic building set at the top of Portland’s renowned Old Port District. The tallest building in Maine, The Casco offers unparalleled views of the ocean, and anchors you into Portland’s most walkable areas.

The amenities here are very helpful. For someone who loves cooking, like myself, having a fully equipped kitchen is fantastic. We’re also excited about the new gym. Additionally, the security is very reliable, ensuring that we feel safe at all times.

Roux Housing offers a mix of single or double occupancy units. We also allow family members and partners to live in one-bedroom apartments together with approval from the Housing Office.

Student housing leases at Nightingale are offered as one of three floor plans: single-occupancy one bedroom ($9680.00/term), single-occupancy studio ($7744.00/term), double-occupancy private bedroom ($6050.00/term), double-occupancy common space bedroom ($3630.00/term). Student housing leases at Casco are $4950.00/term for a double-occupancy studio apartment.

Student housing leases are based on term length: Fall (September – December), Spring (January – April), Summer One (May – June), Summer Two (July – August).

Yes. Our student housing leases include basic utilities such as electricity, water, trash, air conditioning, heat, and Wi-Fi, based on standard usage.

Yes. Wi-Fi internet is included in your lease, based on standard usage.

The Nightingale is a 25-minute walk to campus, and the entire Portland peninsula is also bike-friendly. Roux students are also able to ride the Portland Metro bus system for free with their student ID, and there is a bus stop directly outside of the Nightingale.

All of our student housing options include a full-size, in-unit kitchen. The Roux does not offer a meal plan.

Yes, all of our student housing options include a washer and drying in-unit.

Parking is not included with your lease, but there are on-site parking options available for an additional cost. You will need to reach out to the property manager of your building to purchase parking.

Pets may be permitted on a case-by-case basis for an additional fee paid to Redfern.

Each term the Housing Office will send out an “housing intent form” where you can indicate your intention to renew your lease for the next term, or your plans to move out. You can live in Roux Housing for as long as you are enrolled in a Portland-based program. Once you graduate, you are expected to move out by the end of the month in which your program finishes.
