Philip Licari

Adjunct Instructor

Phil Licari is an adjunct instructor at The Roux Institute.  Licari is returning to graduate-level teaching following nine years as Vice President of Operations for the Innovation group of the Mass General Brigham (MGB) healthcare system. Within MGB Innovation, he was responsible for teams supporting technology transfer and new product commercialization efforts, through patent prosecutions, high volume legal and financial transactions, and analytics reporting. During the final two years of his MGB tenure, Licari led key COVID-related Supply Chain programs for the system. His prior experience included 35+ years with rapid growth and early-stage medical device companies, including senior executive positions with Boston Scientific Corp. and Roche Pharmaceuticals, with functional specialization in global supply chain management, new product commercialization, and manufacturing operations. Licari also served as Chief Operating Officer for two venture-funded early-stage companies, ConforMIS, Inc., a producer of patient-specific orthopedic implants, and NxStage Medical, an innovator of home dialysis systems, now owned by Fresenius Medical.

Licari also has undergraduate, graduate, and Executive Education teaching experience with Babson College as a Senior Lecturer in Technology and Operations Management. He holds an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
