Turning Your LLM Into Your Work Assistant

This workshop is best for professionals who want to thoughtfully integrate generative AI tools safely and effectively in their daily work. These sessions will explain the underlying functionality of popular consumer AI tools and explore real-world applications for each. Teams that complete this course will generate more consistent, quality outputs in less time and make better decisions about selecting a given tool for a specific task. After completing any version of this workshop, participants will be able to personalize AI interactions to align with their preferences;  use specialized tools like workspaces, automations, and skills with intentionality; and recognize the job-specific risks of using AI along with strategies for mitigation.

• Embedded AI Usage (e.g. AI in Excel, Powerpoint)
• Desktop AI Tools (e.g. Claude Cowork, ChatGPT desktop)

Upon successful completion of this course, learner outcomes include:

• Understand how LLMs receive and follow instructions, and how to write effective instructions 
• Configure AI tools to remember your preferences and context, in order to deliver more consistent outputs over time
• Use AI to analyze a spreadsheet relevant to your own work
• Build an AI-enabled project that references your documents and is aligned to your workstream 
• Build a simple scheduled workflow without writing any code
• Determine when to use an AI chat, an Excel-integrated AI tool, a dedicated AI workspace, or scheduled automations/agents

Session length: 

• We will work with your team to scope the appropriate course length, based on your desired outcomes and the latest functionality available to your employees. Note: not all topics can be covered in shorter versions of this course. 

Learners should meet the following prerequisites:

• Strong understanding of prompt engineering best practices and risks, through the completion of Maximizing Productivity with Generative AI or regular use of an LLM
