Charles Chandler
Part Time Lecturer
Charlie is a lecturer in the College of Professional Studies, leading classes in data and analytics. He has been working in data and analytics for over 15 years, mostly in healthcare and higher education. He received his data science certification from The Data Incubator in 2021, having completed a Python-based data science bootcamp.
Charlie is currently a data scientist at InterMed, a primary care practice with clinics in Southern Maine. His favorite project so far is a model that predicts whether patients will admit to the emergency department. Charlie has a BA in English and an MA in the humanities. He was a professional writer and editor before pivoting to data and analytics. In his spare time, he has fun with his wife and kiddos, makes music, and tries to grow gourmet mushrooms. Having at least one himself, he loves stories about wild career pivots, and he loves how many Mainers he’s met who have multiple hustles.
