Deanna Barry

Assistant Director of Housing Services

Deanna Barry (she/her) is the Assistant Director of Housing Services at the Roux Institute. Deanna is responsible for supporting students with their housing needs and helping them build connections with each other and the local community as they transition to a new environment and culture.

Before joining the Roux, Deanna worked at the University of New England in the Office of Housing and Residential/Commuter Life, where she was able to combine her passions for education, community development, and crisis response. Additionally, she spent 5 years working as a licensed social worker in both clinical and community settings, focusing on youth and gender-based violence prevention and response.

Deanna received her Bachelors’ degrees in English and Psychology from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine in 2016, followed by her Masters of Social Work from the University of New England in 2017.

As a born and raised Mainer, Deanna feels a deep connection to the mission of the Roux and the opportunity it gives students to learn, grow, and contribute their unique skills and contributions to the state.
