Special Housing Opportunity for Incoming Students

The Roux Institute offers a housing opportunity for students within the first year of their academic program.

Learn and Live in the Heart of Portland

Newly enrolled Roux Institute students have access to recently renovated, furnished apartment units located in the heart of Portland, walking-distance from our campus. Northeastern University has secured a limited number of newly renovated apartment units in Portland, which we’ve made available to students who are entering their first year at the Roux Institute.

Both student housing buildings offer modern units, equipped with furniture and amenities including a washer/dryer, dishwasher, stove, microwave, and refrigerator.  With Wi-Fi and utilities included, student housing comes with easy living. All student apartments are walking distance from the Roux Institute at Northeastern’s waterfront campus and just steps away from the city’s famous restaurants, arts venues, and shopping district.

Living in close proximity to other Roux learners, students have access to a strong Roux community and an easy, walkable commute to campus events, student interest groups, classes, and social engagements. The availability of these units is limited, and are available to new students on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Nightingale

Nightingale is located in the heart of Portland’s West End neighborhood, known as a quiet residential area. A complete renovation of a 1940’s hospital, Nightingale features high-end design and modern amenities. Fresh, modern apartments are complemented by a co-working suites, fitness room with yoga classes, a library and billiards parlor, a pet spa, and a roof lounge, and a roof deck from which you can see and smell the ocean.

Nightingale is walking distance from the Roux Institute at Northeastern’s waterfront campus. It resides at the nexus of Portland’s downtown, the West End, and the Arts District – which means you are at the core of nearly everything on Portland’s peninsula. Only one block away from lively Longfellow Square, you’ll have no trouble finding great restaurants, museums, neighborhood grocers and nightlife.

Secure Your Housing

Portland has become known as being a top city to live and work – which has challenged the housing market. With limited inventory, the process of finding and securing housing has become more difficult across the region. We are excited to present this housing opportunity, uniquely contracted by Northeastern University specifically to offer a convenient, fixed rate, furnished housing solution for our incoming students.

However, the Roux Institute only has access to a set number of dedicated units for incoming students, which will be available on a first come, first serve application basis. As we do expect all units to lease out quickly, it’s important to secure your spot as soon as possible.
