Marsha Rolle

Associate Director, Life Science / BioPILOT Programs; Research Professor, Chemical Engineering

Marsha Rolle, PhD is a research professor at the the Roux Institute at Northeastern University. At the Roux Institute, Marsha is focused on building translational research and educational opportunities that grow the life sciences industry in Maine. She is passionate about commercial translation of biomedical technologies and cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset in her students.

A native New Englander, Marsha grew up in Freeport, Maine and earned her BS degree in Biochemistry from Brown University in Providence, RI. After graduation, she relocated to Austin, Texas to join Sulzer Innotec to develop drug delivery technologies for medical devices. Rolle later earned a PhD in Bioengineering at the University of Washington and postdoctoral training at the Benaroya Research Institute in Seattle. Prior to joining the Northeastern faculty, she was a professor of biomedical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Worcester, MA.
