What is a Co-Op?

Northeastern University’s cooperative education program is ranked No. 1 in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. It is a leading model of experiential learning benefiting employers and students. Co-op gives BS, MS, and PhD students an opportunity to work within their profession for four, six, or eight-month periods as part of their academic program, giving them real-world experience. Co-op also provides employers access to talented and innovative students to meet their workforce needs and business objectives.

Our mission is to provide dedicated support while you explore your hiring needs. We have a team of career advisors who are consistently meeting with students to identify their goals and interests. This enables us to immediately connect students with their dream job, and connect employers with their ideal candidates. The job posting process is simple:

Email us a copy of your job description.
We will upload your role into NUWorks, our internal job board for Northeastern students, and send you necessary information and access to student profiles and candidates that meet your requirements.
You can use our space here at the Roux to hold on-site interviews

Do I gain access to other Northeastern students outside of The Roux, such as undergraduates from the Boston campus?

Yes. One of the benefits of partnering with The Roux is that you gain access to the entire global network of Northeastern campuses, in which the current count is at 13, including Boston, Miami, Seattle, London and beyond.

Am I able to host an event on campus?

Absolutely. We love hosting our employer partners on campus for a variety of their needs, whether talent-related or not.

Do you host a career fair?

We do. We currently host one in the Spring and one in the Fall. This is a great way to meet our students and see our campus.

How much do co-ops typically get paid?

The hourly rate that students receive often varies due to market conditions. Contact us at the Experiential Learning Team, and we would be happy to provide you with a current update.
